Christmas morning

Yes, I do realize that it is January 23rd! I've gotten very behind on our blog, mostly because I was working very hard throughout late December and the first half of January to get ready to teach a class at Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary. I was in Gettysburg last week teaching, while Tim's parents came down to Midlothian to help out so that Tim wouldn't have to take the whole week off. The class (Women in the New Testament) went well and was lots of fun. Now that I'm back home things are getting back to normal (although I still have lots of grading to do!)

So, back to Christmas morning...

The three of us were at my parents' house for Christmas morning. Needless to say, Justin had a lot of fun. For one thing, he was initiated into my family's long-standing tradition of having cinnamon and orange rolls on Christmas morning:

Justin had plenty of his own presents, but also felt the need to help everyone else with theirs:

Justin got lots of books on Christmas morning...

...and wanted to read each of them right away, before opening anything else.

He did get a few things besides books as well. Such as some wooden blocks which inspired a hug:

But the biggest hit of Christmas was most definitely Thomas the Train. We coordinated our gifts--my parents gave him a basic Thomas train set, Tim's parents gave him a pack with five more engines, and Tim and I gave him some extra track.

Here is his first time playing with Thomas. He has played with little else since we got back from Christmas!

More on Christmas day to come soon.
