Snow days

Last Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning we got about six inches of snow. Which is a lot for this area, though not as much as the 8-12 inches they had been saying we would get.

We went out to play Tuesday afternoon.

It was very powdery snow, so we didn't have much luck attempting a snowman. I was able to make the outline of a fort:

Tim decided to try out one of our remote control cars in the snow (this kind can get wet). It didn't do too well, though. Sank right into that powdery snow.

 The boys mostly wanted to do what they always want to do in the snow. Eat it.

The next day we went sledding in the yard of some friends. They have a hill that is just the right kind of slope for us--fast enough to be fun but not so steep we were afraid to send our three-year-old hurtling down it.

As Tim said when he saw the picture below, he was practicing a new style of curling:

 The boys who live in that house had made a sort of igloo that morning. Our boys thought that was pretty neat.

Snow days can provide some great fun. However, after A WHOLE WEEK off school as a result of this snow, we are definitely hoping for school on Monday!
