Maymont and More Walking

On Saturday we went up to Maymont. For those not familiar with it, Maymont is a really neat park in Richmond that has a little bit of everything: nice gardens, walking paths, a historic house, a children's farm, rescued animals to see, etc. Here are some pics from our walk there.

In other news, after a week or two of occasionally playing the "game" of walking back and forth between me and Tim, Justin had a major walking breakthrough right after lunch today. While I was cleaning up the lunch dishes Tim took Justin into the living room and was getting him to walk to the coffee table. Then he got him to walk to me in the kitchen, all by himself from near the hearth in the living room to me at the kitchen sink. That was much farther than he had ever walked by himself before. For the next 20 minutes or so we walked around and around the house in parade and Justin did really well. We were going around the circle of our downstairs rooms and a few times Justin made it most of the way around before falling or putting a hand down or reaching for a table. It was very exciting!

I would say something about how great Justin's walking success is, except that I am totally distracted by the fact that you were that close to BEARS.
