Preschool field day

May 31 was field day at preschool. This marked the end of Justin's 4-year-old preschool year. Although Justin's school goes year-round, the summer is time for "summer camp" with a different format, less formal teaching, and sometimes a change in teachers.

They had a variety of activities outside. We didn't get many pictures, but here is one of me and Justin doing a funny race:

After the games we had a picnic lunch--inside the classroom because it was a hot day and there is no shade there!

After lunch they gave out awards and a gift bag to each student. Here is Justin getting his award:

The Hardest Worker Award: "For doing your best work every single time."

Here is Justin with his lead teacher, Mrs. Rinker. She is not teaching during the summer, so we said goodbye to her that day.

And his second teacher, Ms. Maria, who is gone temporarily, but will be back in July:

Justin will be attending about half of the weeks of summer camp this summer. Then... on to kindergarten!

I was thinking what a happy boy Justin seems. He seems to really like school and that award gives evidence. Then I looked at the shirt he was wearing. Yippee! St. Louis influence on the East Coast (or South, depending on your point of view)! -- Cousin Ann
