Deep Creek Lake: Day 5

On day five of the family vacation it FINALLY stopped raining long enough for us to have a real outing. It was still very cloudy and chilly, though, so we bundled up in multiple layers and hats on our "summer" vacation and headed out to the Wisp Resort.

The area where we were staying is a ski resort in the winter, and you can take the ski lift up to the top of the mountain just for fun in the summer. It was Sam's first time on a chair lift, and he thought it was pretty cool:

Justin was on the one in front of us, with Gram and Poppy:

Behind us came Grandmother and Grandpa:

We asked a passerby to take a family picture. I think this was the only time on vacation we got a picture with everyone in it:

My mom got a picture of us getting off:

After our trip up the mountain some of us went on the Mountain Coaster. On this coaster you go through the woods  on an individual car. Kids ages 3-7 ride in front of an adult. One unique feature of this coaster is that the rider can control the speed with a hand break. Here's Tim and Justin getting ready for their ride:

This is the coaster after it comes out of the woods. The little red dot is Audrey:

And here is Tim and Justin:

Justin enjoyed it, so he got to go again with me:

Later that day Patty and Audrey went whitewater rafting on a circular course. The rest of us went to be spectators. Audrey is in the red jacket in the middle of the side closer to the camera, and Patty is opposite her.

Here they are rescuing a kayaker:

And here they are going up the ramp that took them back to the top of the course. They went around the circle quite a few times!
