Samuel standing

Sam's been working lately on pulling up on the furniture. So far he hasn't been completely successful, only making it up onto his knees. But for a while now he's been good at standing at a table or couch if placed in that position. Here he is back on July 13:

He's also working on crawling, and also not quite there yet. He's an expert now at getting around the room by rolling and rotating, but doesn't quite yet have the true forward crawl. Just in the last few days he has started scooting forward a bit on his belly. But even without a true crawl, he's not having much trouble getting into things.

This afternoon Tim found him sitting up in his crib at the end of his nap. We'd never seen him going from lying down to sitting up on his own before. So he is definitely getting to be an active baby who wants to be on the move!

Way to go Sam! Whenever I see him it makes me wish we were closer, it would have been fun to have Nolan and Sam grow up in the same town since they are sooooo close in age and developement. I miss you my friend! We may be coming to Maryland (Baltimore) for Christmas, would you guys be making it up to Rockville to see Tim's parents at Christmas?

Yes, Lyndsie, I expect we'll be in Rockville around Christmas time, but no firm plans yet. We'll have to touch base about it as the time gets closer!
