Bear Creek Lake, Day 1

 We have fallen behind on the blog again. Instead of picking up where we left off, we're going to start with our most recent event, and hopefully get around to sharing some of what we did earlier in the summer in later posts.

Last week we stayed at Bear Creek Lake State Park. This park is only about an hour west of Richmond. It was nice to have such a short drive to a vacation. My parents joined us there for the week, so we rented a 3 bedroom cabin.

 The cabin was very nice-- air conditioned, two full bathrooms, lots of closet space, full kitchen, etc.

After dinner the first evening we went to a campfire program. A volunteer naturalist talked about the animals that live in the park. Justin is showing off a (real) opossum hide...

...and some (fake) bear poop.

After the program they provided marshmallows for roasting.
