Lost River: post 6

On Saturday morning we all headed down to the "Creek Crawl," a naturalist-led program for children of all ages to play and look for critters in one of the creeks at Lost River.

Nick the Naturalist told us the kinds of critters we could expect to find and provided nets for catching and a bucket for observing our creatures.

Under the rocks is one of the best places to look.

Justin checks out what the group had caught so far.

All sorts of things live in creeks, but the most exciting to find was the crayfish.

Here's another one that we decided to leave in peace:

Justin really enjoyed exploring the water...

...and discovering what was in it.

Tim and Justin pointing things out to each other:

Smiling at the camera...

...and at Grandmother up on the bank of the creek:

When we were done, most of the critters got dumped back in the creek, but Nick took a few of them for the creek aquarium he was creating for the nature center.

Hello Jen, I'm Ellen, I work with Mimi. I sure do enjoy watching Justin growing up. You and Tim are great parents. You have a very beautiful family. May God continue to bless and keep all of you in His tender care.
